East Rutherford completes sweep of Polk County

East Rutherford completed a season sweep of Polk County with an 80-44 victory in Friday’s boys basketball action in Bostic.

The Cavaliers (3-1) took command with a 10-4 run to open the second quarter en route to building a 33-13 halftime lead.

The Wolverines (1-3) closed to within 15 at 39-24 midway through the third quarter, but that would be as close as Polk would get as East Rutherford steadily pulled away.

Aaron Jackson led Polk County with 13 points, with Khristian Littlejohn adding 10. Ross Dow finished with six points, Khalil Austin and Luke Garrison each totalled five, Brady Carroll and Nate Fagan had two apiece and Jesse Moore added one.

Polk County travels to East Henderson on Monday for another non-conference clash.
