East Henderson opened the night with a 10-0 run and never looked back, defeating Polk County 73-32 in Tuesday’s non-conference boys basketball matchup at Polk.
Despite a pair of first-quarter dunks from Polk’s Aaron Jackson and Khristian Littlejohn, the Eagles (3-1) built a 28-11 lead after the first period behind 11 points from Jayden Brewer, then outscored the Wolverines 24-12 in the third period to put the game away.
Jackson led Polk County (1-2) with 14 points. Littlejohn added eight, Nate Fagan and Curtis Simmons each scored three, Brady Carroll had two and Harris Windsor finished with one.

The Wolverines debuted a new-look roster bolstered by several players from Polk County’s boys soccer squad, which completed its season Saturday in the state 3A final.
Polk County travels to East Rutherford on Dec. 5.
