Carson earns spot on NCBCA’s All-District squad

Polk County junior Dominique Carson has earned third-team All-District 12 selection by the North Carolina Basketball Coaches Association.

Carson averaged 20.4 points per game in leading Polk County to a 6-5 record. He was named the Western Highlands Conference Offensive Player of the Year.

Hendersonville’s Dwight Canady led the first team and was named the District 12 Player of the Year. Joining Canady on the first team were Mitchell’s Caius Arrington, Hendersonville’s Keenan Wilkins, North Buncombe’s Caleb Lominac and Hayesville’s Kolbe Ashe.

Hendersonville’s Marvin Featherstone, who led Hendersonville to the state 2A championship game, was named the district’s top coach.
