Brevard takes control early to top Polk County

Brevard built an 18-10 first-quarter lead and rolled to a 64-48 victory over Polk County in Wednesday’s non-conference boys basketball game in Brevard.

The Blue Devils (7-8) led 32-17 at halftime before Polk County outscored Brevard 17-13 in the third quarter to close the gap.

Aaron Jackson led Polk County (4-13) with 23 points. Khristian Littlejohn added 12, Thomas Varnadore and Ross Dow each scored three while Nate Fagan, Curtis Simmons and Blake Anderson each finished with two. Khalil Austin had one.

Polk County is scheduled to travel to Mitchell on Friday for a Western Highlands Conference game.
