Polk Middle’s Keaundrae Green fires an outlet pass to Gunnar Alm to begin a fast break in Monday’s game

Hendersonville Middle kept Polk County Middle’s offense in check in the second half Monday and pulled away for a 41-17 victory in boys basketball action at Polk.

The Bearcats (3-0) held a 14-8 lead at intermission after Polk Middle (1-2) battled back from a 12-3 deficit. The Wolverines began to solve Hendersonville’s full-court press and held their own on the boards in rallying.

But Polk struggled to get its offense going in the second half, allowing the Bearcats to claim the win.

Antonio Simpson had seven points for Polk Middle, with Avery Harden scoring four. Gunnar Alm and Lawson Carter each added three points.

Truitt Manuel had 19 points, 15 of those in the second half, to lead Hendersonville Middle.

Polk Middle’s fifth quarter squad rolled to a 15-6 win.

Polk Middle returns to the court on Thursday, traveling to Flat Rock for another Blue Ridge Conference clash.
