Hendersonville’s one-two punch of Malachi Simpson and C.J. Landrum proved too much for Polk County on Tuesday, the duo leading the Bearcats to a 86-42 victory in Hendersonville.

Simpson scored 28 points and Landrum added 24 points as the Bearcats improved to 13-6 overall, 6-2 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play. Polk County dropped to 3-16, 1-7.

Hendersonville raced to a 27-13 advantage at the end of the first quarter, with Landrum and Simpson teaming to score 20 points. The Bearcats led 40-22 at the half, then exploded for 30 points in the third quarter to seal the win.

Aaron Jackson scored 14 points to lead Polk County, with Gunnar Alm scoring nine. Avery Harden and Lawson Carter each finished with seven points, with Nolan Simpson adding two.

Polk County continues conference play on Friday, traveling to R-S Central.
