Bear JV boys check Wolverines in 58-31 triumph

A stingy Pisgah defense kept Polk County in check Tuesday, paving the way for a 58-31 victory in a junior varsity boys battle at Polk.

The Bears held the Wolverines (0-4) to two points in the first quarter, building a 10-point lead at the end of the stanza. Pisgah steadily built the margin throughout the rest of the game.

Luke Garrison had nine points to lead Polk County, with Nate Fagan and Ross Dow each scoring six. Dow’s total included a shot from some 10 feet beyond halfcourt that swished the net at the halftime buzzer.

Kamron Cunningham added four points, with Nathaniel Harms, Dre Thompson and Keyan Simpson each scoring two.

Polk County will travel Wednesday to face East Henderson in a non-conference matchup.
