Polk County finished fourth in Monday’s Mountain Foothills 7 Conference varsity boys golf match at Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club, posting a team score of 345.
East Rutherford dominated the day’s play, claiming the top spot with a 298 team score, well ahead of second-place Hendersonville (323) and third-place R-S Central (326). Brevard (359), Chase (361) and Patton (370) rounded out the field behind Polk County.
East Rutherford’s performance was highlighted by a balanced attack that placed four golfers among the top five individual scores. Jacob Holland led all competitors with a 72, while teammates Brook Jarrell (74), Cameron Jordan (75), and Brandt Herndon (76) secured the third, fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Tourin Jackson was the standout performer for the Wolverines, shooting an 80 to place ninth overall in the individual standings. The Polk County scorecard was completed by Piercen Edwards (87), Myles Menetre and Brody Wilkins (both with 89), Gage Harden (100) and Tanner Osborn (105).
R-S Central’s Grant Watson tied for second place individually with a 74, matching East Rutherford’s Jarrell.
The Wolverines will look to improve their standing in the conference hierarchy when they return to action on Thursday, facing Mountain Foothills 7 Conference opponents at Connestee Falls Golf Club.
