Wolverines again set pace for MF7 golf squads

Polk County’s boys golf team delivered another winning effort Monday, besting a field of Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schools at Forest City Municipal Golf Course.

The Wolverines notched a team total of 304, topping the 324 posted by Hendersonville and the 325 shot by East Rutherford. Chase took fourth with a 326, with R-S Central recording a 333, Patton a 349 and Brevard a 352.

Chase’s Brock Reid had a 66 to earn medalist honors, with R-S Central’s Grant Watson posting a 69. Polk County’s Evan Jones closed his round with three birdies to fire a 70 and take third.

Reilly Yoder had a 76 and Avery Harden a 77 for Polk, with Casey Beiler finishing with an 81 and Myles Menetre adding an 86.

Polk County also now leads the MF7 cumulative standings, which will decide the conference’s regular-season champion, by 137 strokes over Hendersonville.

The Wolverines are set to return to the course on April 27, taking part in another league match at Connestee Falls Golf Club.
