Wilkins tops field as Polk takes second at Bright’s Creek

Brody Wilkins shot a 79 to lead Polk County to a second-place finish at Thursday’s non-conference golf match at Bright’s Creek.

Brevard won the team title with a score of 343, followed by Polk County (351) and West Henderson (358).

Wilkins earned medalist honors, shooting a 1-over-par 37 on the back nine that included a birdie on the par-5 18th hole. Brevard’s Giovanni Sferrazza finished second with an 81, while Polk County’s Tourin Jackson placed third with an 82. West Henderson’s John Trace and Brevard’s Loren Jones tied for fourth with 84s.

Piercen Edwards shot 94 for Polk County, followed by Aiden Billings (96).
