Polk County Middle capped a successful boys golf season with a third-place finish in the Blue Ridge Conference Tournament.

The Wolverines finished the two-day tournament, held at Springdale Resort in Canton and Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club in Hendersonville, with a score of 384. Rugby Middle dominated the event and posted a final score of 348, with Bethel Middle just ahead of Polk at 376.

Polk Middle’s Brody Wilkins placed second with a two-day score of 81, two strokes behind Bethel’s Fin Fox. Wolverine Owen Justice came home sixth with a score of 89.

“Even though we played pretty decent as a team, it just wasnt quite good enough this time around,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall. “We had a great season and saw a lot of improvement from every player.

“We’re certainly going to miss Brody and his leadership. He is well-liked and a player who has earned a lot of respect from our conference opponents and coaches.”
