Two-time defending state champion Connor Warren of Mitchell posted a 72 Thursday to lead the field in the PCHS Invitational at Bright’s Creek.

Warren’s even-par round led the Mountaineers to a team score of 324, best in the field that included R-S Central, Chesnee, East Rutherford, Polk County and two golfers from Chase.

Avery Harden fired a 78 to finish third overall for the day behind Warren and Chase’s Garrett Pinkerton, who notched a 76.

The Wolverines finished fifth with a team score of 403. Also playing for Polk were Tourin Jackson (95), Piercen Edwards (109), David Duffy (121) and Tanner Osborn (123).

Chesnee took second with a team score of 337, followed by R-S Central (357) and East Rutherford (359).
