Polk County Middle’s boys golf team opened its season Wednesday with an impressive showing at Connestee Falls.
The Wolverines posted a team score of 202 in finishing just five strokes behind Rugby Middle, the three-time defending Blue Ridge Conference champions.
Rugby’s Graham Hall carded a 38 to take medalist honors, but finished just two shots ahead of Polk Middle’s OWen Justice, who posted a 40.

“Owen had a great day leading our team with a 40, which is very impressive to start the season off,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall. “We have a little bit of inexperience this year as a team, but I’m expecting lots of improvement moving forward.”
