
Polk golfers take second at Mountain Glen match
Polk County’s girls golf team placed second Monday in a Western Highlands Conference match at Mountain Glen Golf Course in Newland.
The Wolverines were one of just two schools to field full teams at the event, which host Avery won with a score of 159. Polk County’s threesome notched a score of 193. Owen and Mountain Heritage also had players competing but didn’t field a full team.
Avery’s Addison Rudicile led all players with a score of 47, finishing four shots ahead of Owen’s Keira Johnson.
Emily Prince led Polk County with a score of 62, with Caelan Gaul posting a 65 and Tori Thompson finishing with a 66 in the nine-hole event.
