Polk golfers set school record with sizzling effort at Hendersonville Country Club

Polk County’s boys golf team blazed through Hendersonville Country Club on Tuesday, setting a school record for the lowest team score in defeating a field of Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schools.

The Wolverines posted a team score of 294 to finish 31 strokes ahead of Hendersonville in the seven-team competition.

Chase’s Brock Reid posted a 69 for low score of the day, but Polk’s Casey Beiler had a 70 and Avery Harden had a 71 to follow close behind. Reilly Yoder posted a 74 and Evan Jones added a 79 to pace the Wolverines’ record effort.

Myles Menetre added an 80 for Polk County.

Chase took third with a team score of 340, followed by East Rutherford at 343.

Polk County is scheduled to be back in action on April 18, again facing a field of MF7 schools at Forest City Municipal Golf Course.
