
Polk golfers notch second in opening MF7 match
Polk County’s golf team narrowly missed a win in its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference debut, placing second Thursday in a conference match at Forest City Municipal.
The Wolverines posted a team score of 321, just behind Chase’s 315. All seven conference schools participated, though R-S Central did not field a full team.
Casey Beiler fired a 79 to lead Polk County, with Evan Jones and Avery Harden each posting an 80. Myles Menetre followed with an 82 to round out the team scoring.
Reilly Yoder added an 88 for the Wolverines, who are again set to face conference opponents on Tuesday at Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club.
