Tourin Jackson shot a 75 to lead Polk County to a tie for fourth place with Madison at Monday’s Western Highlands Conference golf match at Cleghorn Golf & Sports Club.
Jackson’s round included a 1-under 34 on the front nine with two birdies and an eagle on the par-4 ninth hole.
Mitchell won the team title with a score of 309, followed by Hendersonville (323), Avery (328), Polk County and Madison (337), Owen (365) and Mountain Heritage (373).

Avery’s Hank Johnson was medalist with a 65 that featured five birdies, an eagle and just one bogey. Mitchell’s Bryce Miller was second with a 72, Jackson placed third, and Mitchell’s Peyton Pitman shot 76 for fourth place.
Brody Wilkins led the rest of Polk County’s scoring with an 81, followed by Piercen Edwards (88), Tallis Metcalf (93) and Gage Harden (97).
Polk County returns to action Thursday at Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club in Spruce Pine.
