Tourin Jackson shot a 39 to lead Polk County to a fifth-place finish at Wednesday’s Western Highlands Conference golf match at Rumbling Bald Resort.

Mitchell won the team title with a score of 157 on the par-36, nine-hole course, followed by Hendersonville (164), Avery (167), Madison (170), Polk County (174), Mountain Heritage (184) and Owen (190).

Avery’s Hank Johnson was medalist with a 35, followed by Madison’s Gavin Gault (36), Hendersonville’s Trey Trantham (37) and Owen’s Carson Murphy (37).

Piercen Edwards added a 42 for Polk County, followed by Brody Wilkins (43) and Aiden Billings (50).

Polk County is scheduled to return to action Thursday, facing Brevard and West Henderson at Bright’s Creek
