Brevard Middle held Polk Middle to one hit on Wednesday, helping the Blue Devils score a 13-0 victory in a Blue Ridge Conference game in Brevard.

Brevard Middle improved to 3-0 with the win. Polk Middle dropped to 0-2.

How it happened: A young Wolverine squad had its first base runner in the second as Zack Hayden drew a walk, then got its first hit in the third on Nate Fagan’s single.

Polk also had two baserunners in the fourth on a Brevard error and a hit batter, but the Blue Devils escaped without allowing a run.

Brevard Middle tallied in each at-bat, scoring three runs in the first, five in the second and four in the third.

Next up: The two teams will meet again Thursday at 4:30 p.m. at Polk County Recreation Complex, the game serving as the Wolverines’ home opener.
