Polk County scored in every inning and defeated North Henderson 22-12 in Wednesday’s non-conference baseball game at The Bottoms.
The Wolverines built a 5-2 lead after one inning, then answered North Henderson’s five-run second with a run of their own before exploding for seven runs in the third to take a 13-9 lead. Polk County added five more runs in the fourth, a run in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the game by run rule.
North Henderson scored early and often but couldn’t keep pace with the Wolverines’ offensive onslaught. The Knights scored two in the first, five in the second, two in the third and three in the fourth to stay close before Polk County’s offense took control.

Noah Harden led the hitting attack, going 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI and a double. Aaron Jackson finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, a double and two stolen bases. Cooper Meyer added two hits, two runs and three RBI, while Nate Fagan contributed two hits, two runs and three RBI.
Gunnar Alm was a catalyst for the Wolverines despite collecting just one hit, drawing four walks, stealing four bases and scoring three runs while driving in two. The four walks match a school record set in 2005 by Tanner Yarboro and equalled in 2010 by Rooster Ross.
Alex Perry collected two hits, two runs, an RBI and two stolen bases. Gavin Waldbillig added a hit, a run, an RBI and three walks, while Aaden Denton finished with a hit and two RBI. Matt Jarrett contributed a hit, three runs and two stolen bases.
Polk County stole 14 bases in the game.
Denton started on the mound and pitched three innings. Matthew Foy and Fagan followed in relief, with Fagan earning the win after allowing two hits with two strikeouts in two scoreless innings. Waldbillig pitched a scoreless sixth, allowing one walk.
Polk County (4-3) hosts Owen on Friday in a Western Highlands Conference game.
North Henderson fell to 3-4.
