Wolverines flash improvement in loss to Blue Devils

Polk Middle showed signs of improvement Thursday, though a talented Brevard Middle squad still claimed a 17-0 victory in baseball action at Polk County Recreation Complex.

The Blue Devils improved to 4-0 with the victory. The Wolverines fell to 0-3.

How it happened: Polk Middle had base runners in two of the game’s three innings and had a season-high four hits.

Brevard tallied three times in the first inning, but then racked up 11 runs in the second before adding three more in the third.

At the plate: Gage Harden, Callen Eadus, Zack Hayden and Gavin Waldbillig each had base hits for Polk Middle.

Next up: The Wolverines return to action on Wednesday, with Flat Rock visiting for a 4:30 p.m. home game.
