Rosman rallies in seventh to top Polk County

Rosman scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh Thursday to hand Polk County a 10-9 defeat in non-conference baseball action in Rosman.

The Tigers (4-0) trailed 6-1 after two innings and were still down 9-6 entering the seventh before rallying. The Wolverines (1-4) actually got the third out of the seventh with the score tied 9-9, but a passed ball on a strikeout to end the inning allowed the winning run to score.

Polk County used five pitchers in the game, with Bryan Dadson allowing three earned runs in two-plus innings of work, Holden Owens scattering three hits and one run in two innings, Avery Edwards allowing one hit and one run in one inning, Zach Foy allowing two earned runs and one hit in 1 1/3 innings and Daniel Painter pitching the final one-third of an inning.

Tyler Harris finished 2-for-3 to lead Polk County offensively, with Owens going 1-for-3 with a triple.

Polk County opens Westen Highlands Conference play on Friday, traveling to Madison.
