R-S Middle spoils season opener for Polk Middle

R-S Central Middle scored nine runs in the third inning to pull away for an 18-0 victory over Polk County Middle in Wednesday’s season opener in Rutherfordton.

The Hilltoppers took a 2-0 lead after one inning before breaking the game open with a seven-run second and the nine-run third.

Brantley Hall had Polk County Middle’s only hit, a single. Callaway Cameron drew a walk and stole a base.
