Quick start helps East Rutherford JVs down Polk County

East Rutherford scored in every inning Tuesday en route to a 19-1 victory over Polk County in junior varsity baseball action in Bostic.

The Cavaliers tallied seven times in the first inning and added six more runs in the second to take command of the game.

East Rutherford held Polk County (4-6-1) to just one hit, that coming in the fourth inning. After Karson Scruggs reached on an error to open the inning, Mason Beiler singled for the Wolverines’ lone hit.

Scruggs scored later in the inning on Kendall McEntyre’s infield grounder.

The two teams are set to meet again Friday at The Bottoms, that matchup slated to begin at 4 p.m.
