Apple Valley responded immediately, pushing across two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings to extend their lead to 7-2.

Polk Middle managed one final rally in the sixth. Zane McFalls drew a leadoff walk and moved to second on Brantley Hall’s groundout. Gavin Waldbillig then delivered a run-scoring double down the left-field line, but the Wolverines could get no closer.

Foy led the Polk Middle offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Waldbillig finished 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Turner, Simpson and McFalls each added one hit for the Wolverines.

The Wolverines will look to snap their losing streak when they return to action on March 20, hosting Brevard Middle at 4:30 p.m. at the Polk County Recreation Complex.
