Polk JVs fall to Mountain Heritage in season finale

Mountain Heritage rapped out 11 hits and took advantage of nine Polk County walks Thursday en route to a 14-4, five-inning win over the Wolverines.

Polk County closed its season with a 4-8 record.

The Wolverines grabbed a 3-0 lead early. Polk scored twice in the first inning and added a run in the second, but that would be the bright spot for Polk as the Cougars answered with two runs in the bottom of the second, three in each of third and fourth innings and six runs in the fifth to end the game.

Landon Bradley, Bryson Jones, Gabe Alvarado and Elijah Barnes each had hits for the Wolverines.

Cohen Edwards started and pitched the first three innings, with Evan Jones and McEntyre combining to pitch the final two.
