Polk JVs crush Avery in baseball opener

1 min read

Polk County’s junior varsity scored early and often Monday in handing Avery a 24-2 four-inning defeat in the Western Highlands Conference and season opener for both teams at Polk.

The Wolverines took command with a 12-run second inning, taking advantage of several Avery walks to build a 15-2 lead after two innings. Polk added two runs in the third and seven more runs in the fourth before the game was called due to time and margin.

Shane Parris finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and Jordan Bishop was 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI for the Wolverines.
