Polk County’s junior varsity baseball team dropped a 14-0 decision to Landrum on Wednesday in a non-conference game at The Bottoms.
The Cardinals wasted no time establishing control, erupting for 11 runs in the opening inning to effectively put the game out of reach early. Landrum added a run in the third before plating two more in the fourth to complete the shutout victory.
Offensively, the Wolverines were held to two hits against Landrum pitching. Jonathan Painter and Acer Eadus provided the only offense for Polk County, each going 1-for-2 at the plate.

The loss drops the Wolverines to 0-4 on the season as they continue to search for their first win of the campaign.
The Wolverines return to action on Thursday, traveling to face East Henderson in a 4 p.m. contest.
