Mountain Heritage handed Polk County a 12-6 defeat Wednesday in junior varsity baseball action at The Bottoms.
Jordan Bishop finished 2-for-4 with a double, triple, three RBI and a run. Jonothan Edwards added a 2-for-3 day while Shane Parris was 1-for-2 with two runs and Kaleb Johnson finished 2-for-4 with a run.
Bryson Edwards, Parris and Jordan Searcy combined to allow six hits and three earned runs with seven strikeouts.

POLK SOCCER: Polk County earned a 3-1 win over Mitchell in overtime Wednesday in a Western Highlands Conference match in Ledger.
The two teams entered the extra periods tied at 1, both teams scoring in the first half.
Polk County (8-7, 5-2) hosts Avery on Friday at 6 p.m.
