Owen scored in every inning except the fifth and defeated Polk County 10-2 in Friday’s junior varsity baseball Western Highlands Conference game at The Bottoms.
The Warhorses jumped out to a 4-1 lead through two innings and added three runs in the fourth, single runs in the fifth and sixth to pull away.
Polk County scored its only runs in the first and fourth innings. Drew Young walked and scored on Simms Harris’ RBI single in the first. Davis Holbert was hit by a pitch in the fourth and scored on an error to make it 8-2.

Harris led Polk County with two hits and an RBI, while Asher Mullet, Brady Carroll, Holbert and Josh Jarrett each collected one hit.
Zayne McFalls started on the mound and pitched two innings. Mullet pitched three innings in relief, and Carroll finished with one inning.
Polk County (1-5, 0-2 WHC) hosts Mitchell on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
