Erwin capitalized on seven Polk County errors to claim an 8-3 victory in Friday’s junior varsity baseball game in Leicester.
The Warriors (1-0) scored three runs in both the first and third innings to take control, then added two more in the fifth to pull away.
Polk County pitchers allowed just one hit but struggled with control, walking seven batters.

Drew Young led Polk County’s offense, going 2-for-2 with a run scored. Simms Harris and Josh Jarrett also scored for the Wolverines.
Polk County scored single runs in the first, fourth and fifth innings. Young singled and Brady Carroll walked in the first, with both runners stealing bases before Young scored on a passed ball with two outs.
Harris was hit by a pitch in the fourth and advanced to second and third on wild pitches before scoring with two outs on another wild pitch. Jarrett reached on a dropped third strike in the fifth, stole second and third, then scored on a passed ball.
Polk County (0-2) hosts North Buncombe on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
