Madison JVs pull away in final at-bat to down Polk County

Madison scored two runs in each of the first two innings and pulled away with seven runs in the sixth to defeat Polk County 13-1 in Tuesday’s Western Highlands Conference junior varsity baseball game.

Polk County scored its only run in the bottom of the first. Matthew Foy walked, stole second and third, then scored on an error by the catcher.

Madison added two runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 6-1, then put the game away with seven runs in the sixth.

Simms Harris had Polk County’s only hit.

Polk County (2-9) travels to Madison on Thursday.
