Macon Middle School held Polk County Middle to three hits Wednesday en route to a 13-1 victory in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference baseball action at Polk County Recreation Complex.

Macon snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the second inning and scored in every inning thereafter in dropping Polk Middle to 5-7 overall this season.

The Wolverines scored their lone run in the first as Wilson Edwards walked with one out, stole second, moved to third on Holden Owens’ single and then scored on a double steal.

Polk County had two runners on in the second and loaded the bases in the third, but were unable to push across another run.

Edwards had a double and Bryson Ridings singled for the Wolverines’ other hits.

Polk Middle travels to Canton Middle School on Monday as the Wolverines enter the final week of regular-season play.
