1 min read

Polk County’s junior varsity didn’t pick up a win Tuesday. But the Wolverines did continue to show the improvement they’re making this season.

Polk dropped a 10-4 decision to North Henderson in a six-inning non-conference matchup at The Bottoms. The Wolverines dropped to 0-10 with the defeat.

North Henderson scored four runs in the top of the third, but Polk responded with a run in the bottom half of the inning as Donte Tingling scored on a wild pitch.

The Wolverines then added two runs in the fifth as Will Jarrett walked, stole second, took third on a wild pitch and scored on Aaden Denton’s one-out single. Denton scored later in the inning on an error.

Polk picked up its final run in the sixth as Tingling was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

Denton, Jarrett, Gage Harden, Aaron Jackson, Jaxtyn Virgil and Kameron Montgomery each recorded base hits for Polk.

Harden pitched four innings, allowing just one hit and striking out eight and walking seven. Jackson pitched two innigs, striking out three and giving up four hits.
