Aaron Jackson had one of Polk County's two hits in Thursday's loss

Polk County’s junior varsity baseball squad took a lead into the final inning Thursday before dropping a 10-6 decision to Hendersonville.

The Wolverines (0-4) took a 6-5 lead in the top of the fourth when Donte Tingling walked, stole second, took third on Gage Harden’s grounder and scored on a wild pitch.

But Hendersonville responded with five runs in the bottom of the inning to claim the victory.

Polk County took a 5-4 lead in the second inning, sandwiching a series of walks and wild pitches around Zalen McCraw’s infield single. Hendersonville evened the score in the bottom of the second with a win.

Aaron Jackson had Polk County’s other hit in the win.

The Polk JVs are slated to travel Tuesday to Patton for another Mountain Foothills 7 Conference game.
