Madison Middle School took advantage of five Polk County Middle School errors Wednesday to take a 5-2 win in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference baseball action in Marshall.
The Wolverines (3-4) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the third when Elijah Sutton singled, stole second and third and then scored on Tyler Harris’ ground ball.
But Madison scored all five of its runs in the third inning as the Wolverines committed four errors, allowing Madison to score all of its runs with just two hits.

Polk Middle then rallied in the sixth, as Holden Owens led off the inning with a single, stole second and third and then scored on a passed ball. Jared Wolfe then was hit by a pitch with two outs and stole second, but Madison got the final out to end the game.
Sutton went 3-for-3 and stole five bases to lead Polk Middle’s offense.
Owens took the loss, allowing three hits, walking one and striking out nine. He didn’t allow an earned run in the game.
Polk Middle returns to action on Thursday, traveling to Waynesville Middle School for a 4:30 p.m. game.
