Edwards to sign with Brevard College baseball

Polk County senior J.D. Edwards has verbally committed to play baseball at Brevard College and will sign Thursday with the Tornados.

Edwards will become the second Polk County graduate in Brevard’s baseball program, joining Mark Mazzilli.

Brevard College is in the final stages of its transition from a Division II school to a Division III program. The Tornados will compete next season in the South Atlantic Conference before leaving for Division III and the USA South Athletic Conference.

Edwards becomes the second Polk County senior with college sports plans, joining Caroline Lee, who signed earlier this year with Southeastern Louisiana to play soccer.
