Landrum scored seven runs in the sixth inning to pull away from Polk County 8-3 in Wednesday’s non-conference junior varsity baseball game at The Bottoms.
Polk County (2-6) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Matthew Foy walked, advanced to third on Asher Mullet’s single and scored on a bases-loaded walk to Davis Holbert.
The game remained 1-0 until Landrum scored a run in the fourth to tie it, then the Cardinals (3-2) broke the game open with their seven-run sixth inning to take an 8-1 lead.

Polk County rallied in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases before Acer Eadus scored on a walk to Hunter Ledford and Nolan Carnegie scored when Mullet was hit by a pitch to make it 8-3.
Foy reached base four times, drawing three walks and scoring a run. Mullet finished 1-for-3 with an RBI, Brady Carroll went 1-for-2 with a stolen base and Zayne McFalls added a hit.
