Brevard stormed back Tuesday from an 8-0 deficit, pushing across the winning run in the sixth inning to defeat Polk County 9-8 in junior varsity baseball action in Brevard.
The Wolverines (4-8-1) tallied four runs in the second, another in the third and three in the fourth to build their 8-0 lead.
But Brevard answered with a three-run fourth, then tied the game with five runs in the fifth. The Blue Devils then turned a walk, stolen base, sacrifice fly and single into the winning run in the sixth.

Polk took advantage of six Brevard walks and an error in the second inning to score its four runs. Run-scoring hits by Dustin Shook and Shatter Johnson keyed the Wolverine three-run rally in the fourth.
Johnson finished 2-for-2 for Polk, with Shook adding the Wolverines’ other hit. Brevard pitchers finished with 11 walks.
Polk County hits the road on Wednesday, traveling to Madison for a non-conference game before closing the season on Friday at home against Brevard.
