Bethel Middle capitalizes on Polk Middle miscues in 13-3 win

Bethel Middle took advantage of six Polk County Middle errors on Thrusday en route to a 13-3 win over the Wolverines in baseball action at Polk County Recreation Complex.

After going down in order in the top of the first, the Blue Demons scored seven runs in the top of the second, six of those coming with two outs.

Bethel added six runs in the top of the fifth, all without a hit.

Polk Middle (2-2) scored a pair of runs in the second as Kaleb Kropp doubled to open the inning and Isaac Medford drew a one-out walk. One out later, Kropp scored when Bethel misplayed Bryson Edwards’ fly ball and Jordan Bishop singled to drive home Medford.

The Wolverines added another run in the fifth as Grayson Jones and Nick Capozzi opened the inning with singles, then moved up a base on a wild pitch before Jones scored on Shane Parris’ infield grounder.

Kropp finished 2-for-3 to lead the Wolverines at the plate. Jones, Capozzi, Medford, Edwards and Bishop all had singles.

The Wolverines return to action on Monday, traveling to Brevard Middle for a 4:30 p.m. game.
