Recent Polk County graudute Gunnar Alm has been named the All-Western North Carolina Baseball Player of the Year by the Citizen-Times in Asheville.
Alm led the Wolverines to a 17-10 record and a Western Highlands Conference championship. He hit .464 with 11 home runs, 33 RBI, 41 stolen bases, 50 runs and 38 walks.
Alm finished among the top players in the state in runs, home runs and steals this season and among the top five in state history in career runs scored and steals.

Teammate Noah Harden earned second-team All-WNC selection as an infielder. Harden hit .412 this season with 32 RBI and 27 runs. He also finished 6-4 on the mound for the Wolverines with 44 strikeouts.
