Polk County's Lawson Carter

Polk County’s Gunnar Alm and Lawson Carter have been named to the Mountain Foothills 7 All-Conference baseball squad.

Alm, a freshman who has verbally committed to North Carolina State, hit .358 this season with 10 doubles, four home runs and 13 RBI. He scored 24 runs and stole 25 bases, posting a .506 on-base percentage.

Carter, a junior, hit .333 with five doubles, a homer and 19 RBI. He also made 11 relief appearances for Polk, striking out 14 in 18 innings with a 4.28 earned run average.

East Rutherford’s Mason Huffstickler was named the conference player of the year, with R-S Central’s Drew Yelton named the league’s top pitcher and Chase head coach Jordan Rumfelt named the coach of the year.
