Undefeated East Henderson tops Polk in final pre-holiday tilt

Polk County senior Bella Marino had four points, four rebounds and three steals in Tuesday's loss at East Henderson.

Undefeated East Henderson pulled away Wednesday for a 53-35 victory over Polk County in a non-conference girls basketball clash in Flat Rock.

The Eagles improved to 9-0 with the win. Polk County dropped to 1-9 in its final game before the Christmas holiday break.

Autumn Owen had nine points to lead the Wolverines, with Sara Muse and Julia Griffin each scoring six. Rachael Davis, Ansley Lynch and Bella Marino each scored four points, with Marino adding four rebounds and three steals.

Mariah Overholt finished with two points for Polk County, which will return to action Jan. 3 at home against Cherokee.
