Stingy Wolverines pick up road win at Apple Valley

Polk County Middle used its always-tough defense and a balanced scoring attack Thursday to top Apple Valley 20-16 in Blue Ridge Middle School Conference action in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines improved to 6-5 with the win. The 16 points matched the fewest the team has allowed this season.

Six different players scored for Polk Middle, which has won six of its last nine games. Ava Marino led the offense with six points, with Julia Griffin scoring four, Bre Kenan and Kaylin Jenkins each scoring three and Belen Akers and Sara Muse scoring two.
