Rickman, Overholt lead good day for Polk Middle runners at Brevard

Polk County Middle School’s cross country team enjoyed another outstanding day on Tuesday, placing fourth overall in both girls and boys races at Glen Cannon Country Club in Brevard.

The Wolverine boys were led by Chris Rickman, who placed ninth overall with a time of 13:25. Following Rickman were Andrew Hostetler, Shaq Wingo, Grayson Smith. Carson Shacklock, Jackson Edwards, Wesley Royster and Cameron Horne.

The Polk Middle girls were led by Olivia Overholt, who took top honors individually with a time of 13:35. Following her were Taytem Johnson, Sara Muse, Lacey Gosnell and Jylyn Barnes.

The Wolverines are slated to compete Tuesday at Rugby Middle before wrapping up their season on Oct. 25 with the Blue Ridge Middle School Conference meet.
