When the local scholastic sports season begins Tuesday, Polk County fans will have a new way to keep up with the latest local scores.
PolkSports.com is partnering with ScoreStream to make the latest local scores available via app as well as the PolkSports website. Scoring updates will be posted via ScoreStream, allowing fans to be notified on their mobile phones as soon as those results are available.
“When we surveyed users earlier this year, a leading request was for mobile score notifications,” said Andy Rhinehart, the website’s founder. “ScoreStream will provide that service via its app as well as offer us added tools to help promote Wolverine teams and athletes.
“With its recent partnership announcements with The Associated Press and iHeart Media as well as its other existing relationships, ScoreStream also offers a wide distribution network that will help deliver quick and accurate Polk County scores to those partners.”
Local fans who download the ScoreStream app, available for Android and iOS, can also help report scores as well as provide photos and video.
ScoreStream currently supports all local high school and middle school head-to-head sports except tennis, which the company is working to add. Tennis and cross country schedules and results will be available on PolkSports.com.
