Polk volleyball tops Landrum in renewal of border series

Polk County's Cameron Capozzi prepares to deliver a kill in a match earlier this season.

Polk County turned a rare trip to Landrum into a non-conference volleyball win on Wednesday, handing the Cardinals a 3-1 defeat.

The Wolverines took a 25-18, 25-14, 23-25, 25-17 victory in a match between the two border rivals. The two teams haven’t faced one another in a regular-season match since at least 2008, the last season for which records are currently available.

Mireya Roman and Grace Lauer each had five kills and Ansley Lynch added four kills and three blocks.
