Polk County Middle’s Jacob Knighton took second place Saturday in the 136-pound weight class at the Blue Ridge Conference wrestling tournament in Waynesville.
Knighton was one of four Polk Middle wrestlers to qualify for the event. Also competing were Bryson McCraw, Harrison Waddell and Amner Contreras.
Knighton is the first Polk Middle wrestler to reach the championship match in a weight class since Evan Miller in 2016.
The event wrapped up the season for Polk County Middle, led this year by head coach Jerry Cox and assistant coach Phillip Miller.
