Qualin Sutton and Bryson Seay each scored two touchdowns Thursday to lead Polk County Middle School to a 30-6 victory over Madison Middle in Marshall.
The Wolverines are now 1-0 with the victory in the season opener.
Sutton scored on a 55-yard touchdown run on the game’s first play, then added a 2-point conversion for an 8-0 lead. On the Wolverines’ next drive he scored on the second play with a 20-yard scoring run, then added another conversion for a 16-0 advantage.
On Polk’s next possession, Seay scampered in from 61 yards on the first play of the series, with Sutton adding the 2-point conversion. Finally, Seay capped the scoring with a 66-yard touchdown jaunt on the Wolverines’ next drive, giving Polk a 30-0 lead.
Madison added its lone score early in the fourth period.
Polk Middle is back in action next Thursday, hosting Canton Middle at 5 p.m. in another Blue Ridge Middle School Conference matchup.
