Polk County Middle’s girls softball team earned its first win of the season on Monday, pounding Apple Valley 13-4 in a Blue Ridge Middle School Conference game in Hendersonville.
Jessie Emory led Polk Middle at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two triples and four RBI. Kaylin Jenkins finished 3-for-4 and also drew a walk.
Mikailah Hall pitched a complete game with four strikeouts to earn the win, and Wolverine head coach Shannon Harris saluted her team’s defense, which turned two double plays during the victory.
Now 1-3, Polk Middle is back at home on Thursday, hosting Hendersonville Middle at 4:30 p.m. at Polk County Recreation Complex.
